How can we keep Christ at the center of the Christmas season and holiday festivities? Many of us still have shopping to do, large meals to prepare for family and friends, and many parties to attend during the Christmas season. Even though it is so easy to forget all He’s done for us, deep down in our hearts, we don’t want to forget.
Here are three ways you can keep Christ in your presence during the Christmas season:
• Take time to visit with Christ throughout the day. Wake up early and start your day reading the Bible. If morning is not your thing, then simply find some time in your day to commune with Him. The most important thing is to stay connected with Him and continue to build your loving relationship.
• Be grateful every day and take nothing for granted. Allow God to order your steps throughout your day. There is no problem to big for our God to solve. It is important to realize that God is much more concerned with my attitude than my circumstances. When I choose an attitude of gratitude, I will find peace, wisdom, love and rest.
• Read a scripture a day to keep negativity away. Select a scripture to read. Then, take time to research and dig deeper into the scripture’s meaning. This will become a habit that will be hard to break, and you will learn how to apply the scripture to your life. You will grow closer to God and His scripture.
During the Christmas season, it is very important for us to remember the One who set us free from bondage. The One who loves us unconditionally, even when we’re not lovable. Let’s make a commitment to use these ways to keep Christ in Christmas.
