Isn’t it comforting to know that we can pray wherever we are, and God hears us? Prayer softens hearts and makes the impossible possible, the degrading tolerable, the haughty humble, and the future hopeful. However, to be devoted to prayer requires a willingness to be still, to focus on who God is in all his majesty as well as in all his compassion and love for us. This prayer technique has some of the same components as meditation. Meditation is a practice where an individual focuses his or her mind on a specific object, thought or activity to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm state.

How to Meditate:

• Sit Still – Just sit still and close your eyes – Out stillness will lead to inner stillness
• Relax – It’s not a process – You just let go and surrender
• Pay attention – To nothing in particular – Just be awake and focus on self-awareness

Paul calls on the believers to be faithful in prayer. Faithful simply means to be committed, disciplined, constant, and loyal. Today we can face life’s challenges better when we stay in prayer and meditation. Don’t fret. We can always lift our heavy hearts and share them to God in prayer.


Sovereign God, thank you for all you do and will continue to do in my life. Please quiet my heart as well as my environment so I can hear a word from you. I am asking you to guide me in the ways that lead not to fear but to heaven. Amen.
