The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 ESV)
Did you know that we are at peace with God by Jesus’ shed blood? According to the Bible, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Believe it or not, you have no access to the peace which transcends all understanding until you are at peace with God. Then, you cannot have the peace of God until you are first at peace with God.
It’s important to note that this peace is not our peace but the peace of God and is a result of Jesus’ death on the cross as it was Jesus who rescues us from the coming wrath (see I Thessalonians 1:10b). This is the only way to be at peace with God and to receive the peace of God. There is absolutely no other way to have the peace of God Than through Jesus Christ (see Acts 4:12).
If you have repented and trusted in Jesus Christ, then you have the very same peace of God that Jesus Christ left with the disciples before His death on the cross. Now, whether you can fully understand the peace of God concept or not, it is important for you to choose to believe it in your heart and mind.
If you seek peace, be still.
If you seek wisdom, be silent.
If you seek love, be yourself.
